In recent years, the kitchen has become the centre of the house, with more focus on entertaining and cooking as a social activity thanks to the growing culture of celebrity chefs and cookery programmes. It’s a trend that we have been watching with interest, as more clients have approached the company in the hope of creating a beautiful, practical and awe-inspiring hub for their home. It’s all about entertaining and cooking for each other now – a meal in front of the TV is no longer acceptable (unless it’s MasterChef). Families are eating together as a unit and, once the new kitchen is fitted, you often find the food improves immensely, because people react positively to any enhanced workspace and want to spend more time cooking.
Since opening its doors in 2001, Mulberry has specialised in creating bespoke kitchens and we pride ourselves on the attention to detail that adds that personal touch to every design. Our team of skilled and knowledgeable staff can cater for every customer’s needs, from smaller kitchens to grand open-plan spaces. These can be “supply-only” or have Mulberry control all aspects of the new kitchen’s installation. This includes building work, joinery, wall tiling, electrical, plumbing and gas work (Gas Safe-registered).
Unlike many large kitchen companies today, we project manage and take responsibility for the whole contract and will provide all the trades necessary.
Much of our company’s custom comes from word-of-mouth and recommendations and it is through this solid reputation that Mulberry has become synonymous in the area with producing large-scale, luxurious designs using high quality brands and appliances. Our showroom on National Avenue boasts an exclusive range of kitchens for you to browse. Bespoke British kitchen carcasses are available in a choice of more than 170 colours in any size. Doors are sourced from all over Europe and the choice of styles is endless, from the traditional to the ultra-modern. As a NEFF 5* Master Partner, there are plenty of top-of-the-range appliances on display, including working models, so customers can taste the coffee fresh from the machine, or be impressed by the speed of the induction hob.
The initial process of having your dream kitchen realised is to pay a visit to our showroom, either in the hope of being inspired and open to suggestion, or armed with your own ideas and desires. Our customers generally come to us with an idea of what they want and it’s our job to crystallise it into something they can relate to. There usually follows a house call to get an idea of how the client uses their current kitchen and what they wish to achieve. While there, Geoff and Colleen would take measurements and observations of light, for example. Listening is the strongest key, people will provide little details about how they cook without realising it. We are kitchen specialists and have years of experience extracting the details about what they need even if they don’t know it themselves.
Scale drawings are created using ideas gathered from everyone involved. Colleen then takes the plans and using industry leading software develops realistic computer generated views. Customers are asked to make an appointment to revisit the showroom at a time convenient to them to view the designs. Absolutely nothing is too much trouble, weekend and evening appointments are available if required and if you come on a Saturday, you can often expect a freshly baked cream cake from team member Dawn. It’s that personal treatment our customers appreciate. We want you to feel as special as we believe you are. Hopefully, it’s clear to see that Mulberry Kitchens have been successful in achieving this goal, as many happy customers have come forward to praise the company’s work and thank the team for doing an exceptional job on their new kitchens.
A visit to Mulberry Kitchens is the first step on the path to realising your dream kitchen.
