Firstly, our heart-felt thanks to our daring clients for being given so much freedom to create the Mulberry Kitchen experience. The new layout demanded a lot of building work - We removed the wall between the existing dining room and kitchen. Two doorways had to be completely blocked up whilst cutting a new opening to allow better access. New ceilings with down-lighting were provided and further construction work was required in the downstairs wet room, repositioning the toilet etc to permit far better use of the re-modelled utility room.
We wanted the kitchen furniture to complement the exquisite antique dining furniture and after much deliberation Tim and Sue chose a Georgian style, ivory painted 5 piece oak door with Star Galaxy granite. The appliances were by Neff with the added bonus of a "Porsche" designed sink by Franke. Finally, we fitted "Summer Oak" Karndean flooring as the perfect link between the two areas. As always, our clients' views are noted and included for your interest.
"We looked at many showrooms but were recommended by a friend to visit Mulberry where we gave Geoff a free hand to enable him to be more creative. Mulberry Proved very willing to increase the design possibilites by suggesting moving doors and walls to offer practical advantages.
We love the kitchen design because it works well. The breakfast area with the lowered wooden table is so comfortable for casual dining for the two of us - no dangling legs. We adore the new appliances, particularly the Quooker instant hot water tap - no kettle now on the worktop, drinks and vegetable preparation are so much quicker with no wastage of water or power. The ideal position of the dishwasher - we don't even have to move to put things away - overall, a very well thought-out design. Finally, the installation team - they were a delight really - they were friendly, courteous and very helpful."
Many thanks to Tim and Sue - your kind words are most welcome.
