Mr
& Mrs Gleghorn
This
month we proudly present a little 'Ooh La La' from Kirkella.
The
design was quite radical, it depended on the removal of an adjoining
wall, moving a doorway, new ceilings, a lot of mess, then, Voila!
an open plan dining area now graces Chateau Gleghorn.
The
gorgeous character oak doors and panels were sourced in France where
interestingly their practise is to plant 2 trees for every one that
is cut down. Cunningly, our designer has hidden a necessary but
intrusive nib wall inside the tall glazed feature cabinet. I would
also ask that you consider the interesting positioning of pewter
knobs - most effective.
Opposite
the capacious wine storage is the versatile workspace of the central
island, full of useful drawers and topped in reflective Black Tormalina
quartz, perfect for buffets and preparation.
Neff
provided the stainless steel appliances, a five burner gas hob,
2 ovens, dishwasher, large larder fridge and the very elegant cooker
hood. The under-mounted sink with its unusually square, swan-necked
tap is by Franke of Switzerland. The new flooring, complete with
an elegant inlaid border is in luxurious Karndean.
Mrs
G was so complimentary and has kindly allowed me to pass on her
comments, "Everyone was so kind - we liked John very much,
he listened to us and spent a lot of time putting it all together,
making sure that everything was at the right height for me and I
am also very grateful to Colleen who was lovely and gave me so much
help with the tiles. The fitters were all really nice, so considerate
and hard working. You made us feel so individual".
As
is usually the case, our clients wanted something different and,
due to a recommendation from their friends (thank you Mr & Mrs
Shephard) another Mulberry masterpiece has been installed. |
