As always, we try to keep our readers interest by showing as wide a variety of kitchen design as possible.

This month we are demonstrating what can be achieved when you engage the services of our talented kitchen designers.

Our shy client Jo had been recommended to Mulberry by her sister (thank you Debbie) and, following a visit to our showroom, everything fell into place. We had to design a high gloss kitchen with an island and large dining facility which would ultimately bring three rooms together. This was achieved by knocking out a window here, blocking another there, a lot of plastering work, new French doors, electrical work etc but I'm sure you will agree that the overall scheme has worked beautifully.

The specification included a 900mm wide Britannia Oven with an Atag induction hob. The steam oven, microwave, dishwasher and warming drawer were by Neff, the American fridge freezer by Whirlpool and the interesting black glass extractor is by Gorenje. The walnut worktops have added warmth and interest as well as a perfect contrast to the high gloss cream doors.

Jo wanted to keep the internal window in the dining area, but the design used tall larder units in the utility area which cover this window.
We suggested retaining the window frame on the dining room side and reglazing it with mirror so the appearance was maintained. The mirror feature now bounces the light around the room.
